My approach
Drawing on the 8 limbs of Yoga, including the philosophy of yoga and self enquiry, I offer a mindful, holistic practice that meets you where you are at. My aims are to support you with self-awareness, self-enquiry, holistic well-being and transformation.
I see Yoga as a journey inwards into the heart of our being, as well as a journey outwards to connect us more intimately with the world. It is a way of returning to and remembering who we truly are.
My personal practice and teaching is mindful, somatically and structurally informed. I am informed by yoga therapy, my background as a massage therapist and practice of Amerta movement. I draw traditional Hatha and Tantra yoga, alongside yoga pioneered by contemporary practitioners such as Peter Blackaby, Angela Farmer and Victor Van Hooten, Vanda Scaravelli, Donna Farhi, Judith Lasater, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli
My teaching honours the 5 koshas, or layers of our being. These are: the physical body, the breath and energy body, the mind and emotions, our inner wisdom/insight/intuition, and our connection to joy / bliss / spirit.
I include the 8 limbs of yoga and yogic philosophy, using techniques that support a holistic path: breath-work (pranayama), asana (movement and postures), still and moving meditation, yoga nidra, self-enquiry and reflection on daily life.
