WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
March 7th / April 11th / May 16th
10.30am-5pm each day
Venue: CECAS at Myross House, Leap, West Cork
March 7th: Square / Human: Movement as communication.
Connecting with self and connecting with each other. Under-standing, sharing, seeing and being seen. Exploring constellation and dynamic of relating through space - how do we position ourselves? Noticing how we communicate through gesture, positioning, sound.
April 11th: Oval / Nature: Embodying a deep, reciprocal relationship with the natural world
Slowing down and experiencing a more natural rhythm. Tuning in to our senses, textures, sight, smell, receiving and knowing that we too are being received. Nature as friend. Our time together will consist of guided and self-led movement, both indoors and outdoors, in woodland and by the water.
May 16th: Circle/Spirit: bowing and praying
Connecting with the sacred within and around us. What is your connection to spirit? Offering, ritual, gratitude. Experiencing the sacred in every day life, not to be special, but to be precious.
Each day will begin with a period of guided movement to help you to arrive, attune to yourself, the space and the group. The day will include movement exploration, partly guided by Claire, and partly self-exploration of the day's themes, sometimes on your own or in pairs/ as a group.
Weather allowing we will work outdoors during the second and third workshops.
Time is allowed for personal digestion and integration, through sharing, writing and art making.
AIMS
Amerta movement is an embodied, spontaneous movement practice, to support you to blossom into the fullness of your being and connect more profoundly with other people and your environment. It draws us into a compassionate, playful and present-moment expression of being, that inspires us to share together this being human, in a receptive, relaxed, spacious, spontaneous and inter-connected way. As we move, life flows through us, we are awakened , opened and return to a feeling of playful, profound belonging.
It is based on the work of internationally renowned movement master Suprapto Suryadarmo, with whom I studied for 23 years.
- Develop confidence in your own movement and evolve your own movement vocabulary
- Explore inner and outer impulses and notice your responses to them
- Become more connected and sensitive to your own body, sensations and senses
- Connect with others, as a source of playful and compassionate learning about what it is to be human
- Deepen your relationship with the natural world and experience yourself as being part of that world rather than a separate observer or consumer.
- Experience your personal sense of the sacred: find out how you explore, express and feel that and share it with others
COST
€75 per day or €200 for all 3
€50 deposit secures your place for the series / 25euros deposit for one day.
